The Chubby Cheerleader

Berta had her most eventful weekend to date (which really isn't saying much considering she typically spends 95% of her weekend sound asleep and snoring), she cheered the Hawkeyes on to a victory over Sparty on Saturday, then showed her team (and pro-adoption) spirit at the Fall FUR-stival Tailgate Paw-tay at HSSC on Sunday. Go Berta!

Dressed up and ready for kick-off:
(Despite what her face says, she ran over and was wagging the heck out of her tail when I got the outfit out of the closet!)

Like mother, like doghter

Berta got pretty worked up during OT! I'm not sure where she learned to yell at the TV, certainly not from her parents. ;)

Rah-rah-sis-boom-nap.
Gimme an L! Gimme an A! Gimme a Z! Gimme a Y! What's that spell?!
BERTA!

And onto the FUR-stival...

Football captain meets head cheerleader, match made in Hawkeye Heaven!

Hawkeye beagle and Packer pug (and Chloe sticking her tongue out at both)

Assembling our team. Wendy had to sit on Chloe so she wouldn't go offside.

Huddle!!

Berta's first kiss from Herky, the adorable Pit Bull!

It seems Herky thought the kiss was more than just a kiss...come on, Herky, Berta is a lady!!

Chloe was not amused when Wendy said it was time to go home.

I guess dogs throw toddler tantrums, too! ;) Poor Clo just wanted to keep playing...and she let Wendy know by plopping herself into a nice puddle and refusing to move.

Berta making some human friends after her doggie ones left.

Hangin' with grandma Baba!

Two of my favorite Hawkeyes :)
And it's thanks to my mama that Berta has this adorable outfit, we love you, Barbie Doll!

This was Berta within 30 seconds of entering the house post-festival. Not even kidding.
(I'm fairly certain that attending this event resulted in the longest period of time Berta has spent awake in the three months we've had her.)

What a great weekend!! Support your local shelter by attending events, donating money or supplies or ADOPTING! Every little bit helps.

Izzy: What?! You mean there are people out there who don't support shelters and animal adoption, the loving option??

This is Berta's thought on people who think you can't find a quality pet at a shelter.

Gimme an A! Gimme a D!.....you know where this is going :)
