If you are in the Quad City area, I HIGHLY recommend this guy:
Ebony
A quick story about this guy/pet adoption/etc:
My dog-walking route takes me past an apartment complex and there are a few little girls that live there and often play outside. Anytime I walk by with a dog, they run over to see it/pet it/love it. On Sunday, they happened to be outside and got to meet Ebony. Being the ham that he is, he was just loving all the attention!
A little conversation took place and it went like this:
Little Girl (probably 6 years old or so): "He loves people!"
Me: "Yes, he sure does. He's a lover!"
Little Girl: "Wouldn't it be great if all dogs had people?? I wish all dogs had people."
Me: "You and me both, kid. You and me both."
Ebony has been in this kennel for over three months now and just wants a home! Look at that face!
If you can, be those people.
On average, 500 animals arrive at the Humane Society of Scott County per month. About 80% of those come in as strays, while the other 20% are surrended by their owners for various reasons. That's A LOT of pets in need of good homes! If you can be a part of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month by making your house a fur-ever home, please do :) (And while the focus is on adopting dogs this month, the cats won't mind if you pick one of them instead (or in addition!)
ADOPTION:
THE LOVING OPTION!!
